Aqua card - are they who they say they are?

I recently applied for an aqua card through there website and have today received a letter stating they have accepted my application.

This is where the (possible issue) begins.......

I may be being super cautious here but it doesnt look like a letter you would expect to see from a credit card company.

It says all the right things on it and has all the right telephone numbers (which I tried to ring and was put through but kept on hold for ages) but the quality of the actual paper itself and how it is printed and set out looks amateurish to say the least.

The aqua symbol is just printed in black and white in the top corner and I would have expected it to be in the customary blue colour of the aqua symbol. The print quality just doesnt seem what you would expect,

The first line it has is:-

Your new AQUA CLASSIC MASTERCARD is ready for you - reply today!

My worry is that somebody has got hold of my details and wants me to fill out the credit agreement and to send it off to the address on the pre paid envelope and ultimately that I havent been accepted for an aqua credit card and that this is some kind of identity theft thingy.

I have also searched on the post office website postcode searcher for the address on the original envelope to me which was PO Box 17315, Edinburgh EH12 1AX and it couldnt find it.

My question is has anyone received a similar letter and did it turn out to be legitimate?

I am sure this letter will turn out to be but just wanted to check in advance.

Sorry for the long ramble but thanks in advance

Did you ask Aqua about this, to check you have been offered a card. I see the card is issued by the Bank of Scotland, which would explain a PO BOX in Edinburgh.

If you worried about sending it back in that envelope and since you did actually apply, then send it to:

    aqua Card Services
    Customer Care Department
    Pitreavie Business Park
    Dunfirmline
    Scotland
    KY99 4BS

I should point out, Dunfermline is spelt with and "e" and not with an "i" as shown above. I just copied and pasted from their website. Shoddy spelling mistakes and shoddy letters!

Yeah, I've got an Aqua card and it's legit. Nasty pieces of work, though. If you've got a short temper and don't need the card, don't bother.

    Hi all,

Just sent the paperwork back and wondered if anyone else had had one of these how long it took for the card to come through.

    Thanks
