Domestic Flights in Australia

Can anyone advise on how to get the best value for local flights within Australia? I already have our international flights there & back with BA but now need to buy the local flights, including Sydney - Cairns - Ayres Rock - Perth - Adelaide - Melbourne - Canberra - Sydney. I know that you used to be able to get a GDay Pass at a sizeable discount in the UK but I think that has now ceased. BA don't seem to offer any special deal.

Try virginblue & jetstar, they are the equivalent of easyjet & ryanair.
If you book well in advance there are plenty one way fares from between $49 & $169 (say Melbourne to Perth).

Jetstar and Virgin Blue are really good value, or at least they were last year! If you are planning on taking lots of flights, it's often worth checking Qantas to see how much a multi city booking would be, as the website will get you the cheapest flight from destinations using both Qantas flights and Jetstar as they are both owned by the same people! If you want to fly to Ayers Rock airport, only Qantas fly here! Hope this helps.

I have tried the Quantas multi-city on line but every time it says that it cant find an available flight, without saying which leg fails. Also I am limited to 4 cities!
