I am a self confessed complete and total newbie when it comes to bank accounts, savings rates, interest, overdrafts and everything bank related. If someone, or any of you wiser people could help to introduce me into this confusing world. I do have a bank account, but I couldn't tell you what it is called.
A simple... idiot's introduction to this would be great! I am trying to save for my small wedding which is hopefully going to be next year and for university. Please share your knowledge with me, it would really help.
Thank you!!:o

Well perhaps this is a good place to start.I do have a bank account, but I couldn't tell you what it is called.
Find out who your account is with, what sort of account it is and people can use that as a starting point to advise you. Since you have an account, you should at least know who it's with
. Is it a current account,
ie does your salary get paid into it? do you have a chequebook with it? can you set up direct debits and standing orders? etc etc
Other than that, without more specific information from you it's hard to know where to start.
