Faulty laptops from "toys r us"/"Medion"

Shopping at "Toys R Us"?!!

Buying a "Medion Laptop"?!

I did the same last month…Unfortunately!!!
Basically, “Toys r us” are selling expensive brand new “Medion” laptops with faulty screens.
Before the sale policy:
“Any unlikely problem will be immediately and happily resolved by us (first 28 days of the initial purchase), after this period “Medion” will resolve it”.
After the sale policy:
“There is nothing we can do as the booklet inside (!) the box alerts for acceptable flaws”!!!! This outrageous statement is subscribed by the retailer “Toys r us “ and manufacturer “Medion”.
This is literally what I was told by “Toys r us “ and “Medion “ when I tried to exchange the ‘inherently faulty at the time of sale’ brand new £800 laptop, 4 days after the purchase!
Since then “Toys r us “ and “Medion” didn’t even bother to acknowledge several attempts to resolve the dispute!
This is a clear breach of the “Sales of Goods Act 1979”, “Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982” and “Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002”.
Obviously they are not bothered.
They may even think that the toys r us (international students, students and public in general)…
Obviously they are wrong!
The case goes to court. Probably the only language these gentlemen understand.

Mmmm Strange that I have a Medion Lappy 18mths old and no problems at all
totally runs sweet as a nut................

In saying that though this is totally mental I mean if its faulty its faulty
Medion and Toys "R" Us should be totally ashamed of themselves I mean lets
face it if theres a problem the manufacturer wont loose out as they will go back to there supplier of the screens...

I hope they get the book thrown at them... Medion and Toys "R" Us

I've found Medion's service to be excellent in the past, we had a few hiccups with one machine we got from them, but they do 12 months on site warrenty free with purchase (or they did when we bought from them), and they sent an engineer out the next day and replaced the RAM in the machine.

What exactly is the problem with the laptop you got from Toyr R Us?

reading that it's a screen fault and the comment about acceptable flaws looks like it might be an argument about number of allowable dead pixels on the screen before the manufacturer will replace. A clause in pretty much every single laptop/lcd screen sale/literature

I thought that too Woby, in spite of the OP posting twice he(?) didn't really say what the problem was did he?
The issue of unresponsive pixels is always fraught, even one in a noticable place is very annoying, the higher the grade of TFT the less likely to be problems. .
