Token gift for a 12 year old boy?

Can anyone help? I've got a wedding this weekend, and I was going to get a little token gift for the children of the bride (my little cousins), and with there being four of them, I was going to spend a few pounds each. Now I've thought of something for the other three, but the oldest is a 12 year old boy, and I'm scratching my head at what to get him! I honestly have no idea, anyone have any suggestions?

My almost 13 year old DS is really in to his music at the moment so what about an itunes voucher? I am sure I could come up with some other ideas but what sort of things does he do/like etc and would you rather give something to keep or would anything go?

  • Honestly, I haven't seen him in about two/three years, so I have no idea what he's into now.

The other thing my DS1 uses a lot is smellies so if you have any Boots points or anything like that he may like some of his own. I have 4 children and I think that DS1 likes to have 'his own stuff'. Cinema voucher coud be an option if there is one near him or if he's more accademic there are some quite good books for boys around now.

When my lad was about this age an aunt gave him Lynx deodorant and shower gel. I was amazed that he thought it was so grown up and loved it.

  • Now that's a good idea, pandoraand teatree! I never even thought of anything like smellies.

  • smellies as suggested, or a hmv voucher, a high street voucher, socks ha ha ha thats a joke!
it really depends on what your willing too spend, although smellies is good, the cheap ones are not so good, and knowing a lad he will know whats 'cool' and whats not, and may not wear it, so could end up a waste of money. on the other hand he may like it lol!
on the other hand, those high street vouchers can be spent anywhere, and he could put it towards something he really wants.

  • I got my ten year old nephew a Maglite recently. He was quite chuffed with that, and it should last him years.

I've got an 11 year old and he's starting to get into the smelly stuff. He likes Lynx and complains because I buy him Tesco stuff as it's cheaper :o

He's also into stationary. You could buy a trendy pencil case and fill it with pens, pencil, fancy sharpener etc., for school.
Here I go again on my own....
