Cat been spayed..but cat nipples exposed? Is this normal?

Hope someone can help me.
My female cat was a year old in March and was spayed last September.
For the last 8 weeks we have been staying with my parents as our house is being renovated and Missy the cat has not been able to go outside. I have noticed recently that two of her nipples are really exposed (the others you can't see) and I don't know if I should take her to the vets.
Is this normal? Someone thought she may be having a phantom pregnancy??! Does that happen to cats?
Have tried to google this but not come up with anything.
She is being fed Hills science plan food same as always.
Many thanks for any replies.

My friend's cat had a mammary tumour a few months after neutering i.e. while young and had to have an op to have it removed. So it might be worth getting it checked out just in case.0

Hi
You've got me wondering too because I have a cat whose roughly a year old and has been spayed but two of her nipples are exposed but to be honest I think they've always been like that since we got her and she has been seen by a vet for a check up and jabs and he wasn't concerned.
I have to say though that she is rather chunky so that may be part of the explanation for my cat.0 -
hi, is she bald around the nipples? sometimes cats when a little stressed will overgroom and things will become more obvious like nipples as they are normally almost covered with fur.
are the nipples bigger than the rest or hard or warm in anyway if they are then get her to the vet0 -
Thanks for all the replies...I'm at work at the moment so as soon as I get home I'll inspect her a bit more closely...think I will be making a vets appointment just to be on the safe side.
Thanks again.
