Can you cap/fix on Economy 10
Hi,
I am on an Economy 10 electricity system which really limits my suppliers.
I'm currently with Eon and have been told that capping/fixing isn't possible with Economy 10.
Is this true? I'm worried that my electricity bills will keep increasing hugely.
I'm in a one bedroom flat with electricity only (no gas) and only leave my clock radio on standby (nothing else), only use washing machine once a week, no tumble dryer, no dishwasher, obviously don't have heating on as it's summer, and my leccy bills are still approx 50 pounds per month.
Seems very expensive to me

It might be worth trying to calculate what you usage is over the year. In order for E10 to be cheaper for you than standard tariff, you need to be using 30-40% of your electric on the off peak rate. Sometimes in flats, this doesn't happen (because you get heat benefit from all the flats around you), and if you don't use your heating much in winter, you might actually save money by moving to standard tariff - which you could then cap.
In answer to the original question, I don't believe any of the main suppliers offer an E10 cap0
