Thanks for all help in setting up my new pc. What a difference. It boots up in second rather then minutes and I've got 95% free disc space rather than the other way round ( all music and photos on another drive). Just one question;
I'm logged on to the net and there's a gap all round the screen. How do I alter the screen resolution to fill the full screen, or is that not a good idea?
Thanks

Right hand click the desktop, Properties, Settings, Try the Screen resolution, Maybe..
Im not too sure what you mean, Is it just a gap when using just the Web Browser or is it there all the time...?0 -
Thanks Mr Skint. Its there all the time, an 1/2 gap all round. Its not critical as everything works fine. Its just as if I'm not using all the monitor. Tried clicking on properties but nothing came up for screen. I'm using XP Pro.
Thanks again.0 -
Hey adjust the screen manually to widen the picture....
Are there some buttons on the monitor, (desktop user?)0 -
Cheers just a plus, a minus and an ok in between. I think its brightness. Its upto 100 and I can reduce it with the minus button. Its not really a problem. I was just curious.
Thanks0 -
Youve probably got 1 menu button that does all the adjusments on screen
or it could be done in properties as before somewhere.......
If you wanna just post Make and Model of PC or Monitor
theres probably an online guide somewhere.........0 -
Some graphics cards also allow you to increase the size.
If it's an ATI, you should have a Catalyst Control Center to do it from.
Can't comment on other manufacturers though.Dave. :wave:0 -
If your monitor is a TFT-LCD, there may be another button on it marked 'Auto' or similar, which should stretch the display to fit the screen. On the other hand, if there is no such button, or you're using a CRT, you may need to dig up the manual from somewhere to find out how the controls work.
If that's all that's there, it may just be a simple case of hitting 'OK' to enter the monitor's OSD (On-Screen Display), using the +/- buttons to select menu options and alter settings. Use the 'OK' button to select an option; the settings you'll be looking for will likely be designated Horizontal and Vertical something-or-other.Party_Animal wrote:...just a plus, a minus and an ok in between.
The monitor's model designation should be printed on the back, but if you've got a well-known brand this information may also be found on the front. That should be all you need to find the manual for it somewhere on the 'net.0 -
Thanks again. Sorted, full screen
