Threating letter from CIQ Ltd Debt Collectors?
Comments
-
Hi fultime - I have to say that I would, now, be inclined to ignore any furher correspondence from CIQ.
In the unlikely event that they decide to take your daughter to Court, then she already has everything that she needs to enter a full defence. The fact that the 'debt' is statute barred is enough in itself - she need give no other reason - but, should the Court require, she has sufficient evidence, in the form of her letters, solicitor's advice, and the cca request, to satisfy any court in the land that this 'debt' is irrideemably unenforceable.
In the meantime., please continue with your complaint process through the fsa and the finacial ombudsman.
CIQ need 'taking down a peg or two'. :mad:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

DFW Nerd # 166 PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS0 -
HI,
reading this post i agree this dca are a bunch of low lifes, how ever speaking as some noe who went through all this and came out the other side happier and wiser i have one thing to say OK a few the daughter is confident the debt is statued barred she cant be forced to pay but they can ask she has said NO that in my book should be closure do not speak to them by letter or phone ignore them it cant affect your credit file so stop wasteing money/ time on them, and they will eventually crawl back where they came from they are now playing a game with her called lets make the girls life a misery until she gives us something , if there is no correspondence from her to them they have no where to go so my advise is stop playinhg ball with them ignore and forget about them and get on with your life.0 -
Hi,
Totally agree with The Lone Ranger. Does she have caller display on her phone? She can simply ignore everything they try - simply file away the letters and ignore the phone. Rog2 is right, the only thing she might have to respond to is if they try court action. Reassure her that this debt is statute barred and she has a complete defence.
Don't waste anymore time, effort or money on these scumbags.0 -
Ah thanks all of you I have passed on what you advise to my daughter, hopefully the financial ombudsman will take this case over and get it sorted once and for all. Thanks again, you are all stars!
