Word Help ...

It is just a little thing but annoying the heck out of me. When I type a letter, I copy the address part and then open Tools>Envelopes and Labels. I then go to "new docoment" and copy the address on to that page, and I am then able to position the address on to the "page of labels" on the screen, depending upon where on my actual sheet of labels I have a spare space.

My sheet of labels could go into my printer several times over several days, as and when I wish to print one or more labels.

However, little fingers have been click-happy on my word programme recently, and have now changed the setting slightly. So instead of being able getting up one page of labels with lines on my screen, I now get a blank page. Yes it does still have the label format in the margins, so you can actually see where each of the labels start and finish, but there are no longer any lines on the screen page.

I have checked that my label make and size are still compatible in my Word labels setup.

Hope I have explained this sufficiently for others to understand what I am going on about, but would love for someone to tell me how to get the page of labels back up on screen. Either that, or I am going to have to uninstall Word and reinstall it, which could get me into all sorts of trouble, system wise.

    Open Word, Table, Show/Hide Gridlines.

  • Mr Skint - I need your help again. It is just a small extra problem, but when I copy and paste the address of my letter into the labels, it is disappearing into the left hand margin.

How do I get the left hand of each and every label to default to a reasonable left hand margin?

Dont think you can actually change the settings on a preset label - easiest thing to do is load the labels, select all, thne Format, Paragraph and alter the left indent to something suitable...

    G Man :)
  • It was certainly set differently prior to little fingers getting click-happy, so although I now have the grid lines back there is the difference in the margins.

However, thanks for the tip, I will give it a try.
