Lloyds TSB - A few questions about services

I currently bank with RBS and would take great delight in moving from them and Im looking at Lloyds TSB.

Would anyone mind answering a few questions for me please:

1. Is it possible to call telephone banking on 24/7 on a geographic number (ie not 0845, 0800 or 0870)?
2. Do they use any electronic devices (such as card readers) for digital banking?
3. Anyone know how if there is a demo of their digital banking available? - I cant find one.
4. If I have any problems, say for example I go overdrawn on a particular day and notice it at 12pm, where do I call to correct it?
5. Do Lloyds provide a 'sweep' facility?
6. Can I setup internal transfers in advance? (say I know £23.76 was coming out my account next Tuesday - can I set it up today to be moved across on that day?)

Thanks

    Yes. 01733 347 007

    2. Do they use any electronic devices (such as card readers) for digital banking?
They are trialling it with some customers, but the vast majority of customers just use a user ID, password and memorable information to log into internet banking.

    3. Anyone know how if there is a demo of their digital banking available? - I cant find one.
    Yes. http://www.lloydstsb.com/ib_demo/launch.html?WT.svl=ibcdemo2

    4. If I have any problems, say for example I go overdrawn on a particular day and notice it at 12pm, where do I call to correct it?
You can correct it in branch, through internet banking or on the number given above by 3.30pm to avoid being charged.

    5. Do Lloyds provide a 'sweep' facility?
There is no sweep facility as such, but they operate a 'save the change' scheme where by they round up each debit transaction and move the 'change' into your savings. For example, a £1.25 transaction, 75p would automatically be moved to savings.

    6. Can I setup internal transfers in advance? (say I know £23.76 was coming out my account next Tuesday - can I set it up today to be moved across on that day?)
Yes, you can set up one off payments upto 28 days in advance.

    Hope this helps.

Many thanks - a great help.

Any idea if the pre-arranged payments lock down the funds in the other account? ie if i set a £10 transfer from savings to my current account for 26th july does it mean i cannot do anything else with the money in the meantime and it will become 'unavailable'?

Another question, with standing orders, is it possible to suspend them for a month or so - rather than cancel them outright? Nationwide lets me do that

No, the funds will remain available in the account. It would be up to you to ensure you had the available funds on the day they are due to leave.

You can amend the payment date and / or frequency of Standing Orders at any point through internet banking. If the frequency is set to monthly then the payment must be due to leave within 28 days. There is, of course, nothing stopping you amending several times to postpone the payment leaving.

There's no sign up incentive or cashback available at the moment AFAIK.

If it's a graduate account you are applying for you can get an interest free overdraft, depending on when you graduated.

Yes, you will get a good service from them which can be priceless. I've had a current account with Lloyds for 20+ years which has caused me far fewer problems then many other current accounts I've held/hold.

Also I find their their internet banking one of the more efficient and easiest to operate.
