Pencils have just arrived. It's too dark for me too. The highlight pencil which you're asked to add to the centre of the top lip doesn't really make any difference. There is a slight smell, but it doesn't bother me. After the trial you just tick the answers to 4 questions, or 5 if you had an adverse reaction.

Most people seem to be doing the home testing. You have to live close to the Evaluation Suite in Nottingham to be accepted for that, or they put you off. They don't help with travelling expenses to get there.

Do you get paid to attend, whereas the home testers are volunteers? I wonder what you get asked to do when you're there.

    Controlled Studies
Previously we have only received requests from people in the local area to participate in Controlled studies, as a study could entail visiting us in Nottingham for up to 1½ hours, 2 to 3 times a week for measurements to be taken.

We do not provide any transportation for these visits or pay for any costs you have in getting here. The nominal payment made for the completion of a study is only to cover any change of routine caused by using the products, it may not be sufficient to cover any accommodation or travel expenses.

Whilst we would very much like to accept you as a volunteer for Controlled studies we appreciate that the above details may now alter your decision. Could you please confirm by email whether or not you still wish to be considered for Controlled studies.

If you still wish to take part, we will be in touch by letter to confirm the medical review process has taken place and which Controlled studies you can take part in.

:j Hope the above helps, as thats what they email when you say you are interested in controlled studies.

......... but I've now got in progress next to the sparkle glitter gel .... I wonder if I'll get my 1st trial???
