problems with vista and email....

hi,
i have vista basic on my pc. i use the basic outlook mail. but also on my computer is a 60 day trial of office outlook.
whenever i try to end a link or a photo etc it automatically uses the office outlook version and not the basic outlook.
any ideas on how i can make the outlook basic version the default one.
i didn`t even sign on to the office version and its gets annoying.
