MP3 Driver Software Query

I have bought an MP3 player from a HK EBayer but the disk containing the MP£ driver S/W is corrupt.

Is MP3 driver software (for win 98) different for each player or will any do

Is there a site where i can find the correct driver?

My player says its a D03-512B

Thanks

  • If you are using Windows XP, then the ability to read mp3 players plugged in via USB connectors is built in and the CD is not required. Simply plug it in and windows should tell you it's found a new "hard drive" and you can then drag and drop files via windows as normal.

If you are using winows ME, 98SE or 2000, then the CD should simply be a basic usb>windows driver and should be generic between the MANY mp3 players that appear on ebay. (I think ive got one myself tbh).

You should of had a little peice of paper with the manufactuers web site address on that you can get the drivers from or alternativly google for the name that appears when you turn the device on.
  • Doing a search with the model you quoted, it looks identical to the 512K Inovix player I've bought my daughter for Christmas. It also has 7 seven colour backlights.

The Inovix website is here. Click on the products list at the top and then click on MP3 players. Scroll down and look for the INOVIX iMP-20 512MB.

They also have a download section on the website.

The same should be true of Windows ME and 2000; they also have basic Mass Storage drivers included. It's really only Windows 98SE that needs such drivers supplied on disc, and earlier versions of Windows don't even support USB.
