  • Hi,

The straight answer is no, you need to go back and swap the router for a dsl/cable one.

Nope, you've bought a router with a built in ADSL Modem, it won't work with a cable modem. You need to return it and get a router without a modem in it which will work with cable. If you want a D-Kink one something like a DI-524.

The lap top will connect if I go from the router with the ethernet cable but not a wireless connection I have tried setting up a new connection on the laptop but the wireless option is not there  It is a new laptop with Vista sorry dont know much as its not mine I am here supposed to be helping but its a bit like the blind leading the blind :rotfl:

Make sure the wirelss is activated in the Laptop. Some have a switch on the side which enables you to switch it on/off. Or it may be something you have to do with a fucntion key.
