Problem is new computers are relatively cheap and the ones you are selling will not sound very 'sexy', but then again they would appeal to people on tight budgets.
It is a question of knowing your market. I think you need to know you will be able to
sell them before you buy them, maybe you could advertise them 'subject to availabiility' so if your don't get an order you don't have to make a purchase.0 -

I think we've covered off that based on the purchase price, they're not worth buying.0 -
The computers are generally P4 2.4 gigg with win 2000 a network card and modem. I dont think they are good enough for the gamers out there but are good enough to surf the internet do general household stuff and write up essays etc. so may appeal to teens and students who are not gamers. Following on from this obviously it would not be profitable to put microsoft office on them however I know on here there are links to the free office type products. Can I load them onto the computers?
Sorry for the ramble, its an oppotunity I do not want to miss; but I am scared to take the plunge due to family finances.
Would appreciate other peoples views on this matter.

Yes you can put OpenOffice on but TBH, they're worthless. At most, you're talking £100 a machine TO SELL. If you're paying more than £50 a machine to buy, its not worth it. Remember that in that £50 you'd be making based on those prices, you've got the time you spend making sure its OK as well as the time you'll spend supporting it. If I were you, I'd make it perfectly clear when you're selling them that there is only an hours free support/30 day HARDWARE FAILURE ONLY with purchase and after that, it's £20 an hour. Otherwise you end up with the morons phoning you endlessly because they've screwed up Windows and somehow seem to think that it means the computer is broken and you're expected to fix it for nowt. Thats a good peice of advice, thank youi. At the moment the whole thing is looking like it coud be a bit of a night mare situation. Not what I need in my life.
Oh and I just found out the computers do not have modems just a network card. So if I am right that means that they can only be used to surf the net when you have broadband. This is looking worse by the minute.
