HTH - don't worry if you don't get the letter from them written in the terms you expect. You write to them laying it all out and ending it by asking them to write to you and tell you if you have misunderstood anything, and if they don't write to you will assume they agree with the details in your letter..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
Hi
Over the past years I have looked after various frail and elderly relatives, filling in forms etc with various degrees of success. After one very bad experience with the tax man i detailed all my letters, phone calls and the circumstances. One letter went to the inland revenue and a second copy to my MP. I actually got a phone call and letter saying sorry and compensation!!! so if all else fails good luck0 -
I had a letter yesterday to say that dad's attendance allowance has been reinstated and that the amount not paid will be paid this week. Thank goodness for that.
I still have no explanation though as to why this happened.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Exactly the same thing happened to my mother last year. She had been receiving attendance allowance for years, and it suddenly stopped with no explanation. After many phone calls (and three months) it finally started again. There was no explanation and no apology. She was given false reassurances on many occasions. She had spent 4 days in hospital just before this happened and I wonder if the hospital had notified the attendance allowance people that she had been admitted but not that she had been discharged? (The hospital also lost her money, purse and sent her home with someone else's clothes and GP letter. She has resolved never to go to hospital again.)0
