Having just returned from a long distance (London to aberdeen) trip via the megabus coach (not the £1 fair either), I would just like to warn people about the abysmal state of the toilets on board.
The trip itself was fine both ways and the bus drivers were helpful and polite. The toilets were the downside.
On the way from London to scotland there was no paper, no handwashing and hardly any flush which seemed bad enough on a 12 hour nightime journey.
On the way back (daytime)there was ample paper, no hand washing and NO FLUSH at all which as you can imagine meant a disgusting pile which grew in the 13 hour trip and people who were desperate to go having no choice but to use it anyway.
If at all possible, bring hand wipes /toilet wet wipes yourself and get to the public toilet before getting on the coach.
Even if you don't have to use the toilet onboard,you might want to clean your hands before you eat as noone can wash their hands after the loo and will be touching everything in the coach on the way back to their seats.
