Roller Blind into Blackout Blind

I am decorating my daughter's bedroom and she already has a roller blind (massive window so prety expensive) now she no longers wants curtains up as well is there anything I can do to the blind to make it blackout? The blind itself is lilac and although it blocks some light it isn't enough for summer (that's a laugh) nights??????

If you can make it cheaper do so. If it's not reduced, in Primark, off ebay or free I can't have it :rotfl:

you can buy blackout fabric which you could stick on with contact adhesive, you know the one where you put it on both surfaces til it goes tacky and then marry the two up...
you'd have to fully unroll the blind and get a couple of people to help...
Or.....and this is what I'd be tempted to do as the sticking the fabric on the blind could be a bit tricky...
make a square of blackout fabric, neaten the edges and then for night times attach it to the window behind the blind with velcro...just take it down in the morning...not ideal but better than ruining a good blind...0
