Help! Media HD thru 1080p T.V./Home Cinema

I'm well confused and need help. I have a media Hard Drive on which I've stored my film library. I have purchased both, a 1080p T.V. and a home cinema system. (awaiting delivery)
My Media player (rimax Alumplus) has an optical out,usb and VGA out (no HDMI). My T.V. (panasonic 42pz80b) has the usual 3 x HDMI, VGA, component, 2 x Scarts, CI slot, aerial and audio outs (no optical in). My Home Cinema system (panasonic sc-pt450) does not have an optical in. With me so far? lol
How can I watch my movies (stored on my media player); do I need a Cinema system that has optical in for example? Or is there no need to panic?
I may be able to change my Cinema system to one with an optical in - will this even work if I do?

Hi,
You can connect your media player to you Tv via the VGA cable and if you can buy a new cinema system with optical in then connect your media player to your new cinema system via optical and thats it. Or you could use AV cables from the media player to you current cinema system if your media player as AV outputs.
Hope that helps.0 -
