any chance of a picture?? I can't picture how the extension & guttering is embedded into the wall - do you mean the garden wall
no i mean my guttering on the left hand side of my house is embedded into his extenstion that he has built, because when he built his extension he built it to near to my house, you cannot even get a ladder between the houses to get my guttering down, everyone around the neighbourhood says its a mess. it is very complicated to try to explain what he has done and how it looks, we even got the council round and they said it lookked a mess, but it was built to the regs. not sure how i go on putting pictures on the net! sorry!

so basically he has just built so close to your property that your guttering is right against his wall, and you can now no-longer access the side of your house for maintenance.

well if he hasnt crossed the boundary to build, then i cant see that you ever had any access down that side anyway, in which to maintain your property, as it seems you only have the width of the guttering overhang, so whats the big deal?

It doesnt matter if your house looks like a semi now due to the proximaty, its still detached, and therefore the value isnt affected.

I know its a pain that you cant get down there for maintenance, but i doubt you previously has access before anyway.

However, if he has built the extension out of place, and its has encroached on your property, then you have reason for complaint. But proving where the actual boundary lies on property is hard to determine, and isnt worth the money involved to sort it out
