Worth claiming on car insurance?
I had my car broken into today. The radio/cassette was nicked - I'll replace it with a cheapo new one. Been quoted £172 by autoglass to replace the smashed side window. If I go through my insurance I will have to pay £50 excess but it won't affect my no claims discount. However, it will be on my record as an 'accident/loss' when I come to renew my premium, so I'm guessing my premium will go up.
Is it worth going through my insurance company, or should I just sort it privately?

So debatable isn't!
Have a look for a side window at the scrappy?
I thgink I would be pricing it up as best as I could then making a decision.0 -
Your insurance is very unlikley to increase as a result of a glass claim - whos the insurer?0

Marks & Spencer at the moment. Have been getting quotes recently via Confused.com (thinking of getting a newer, more expensive car) and noticed that they want to be notified of *all* accidents/claims as part of my details. So I'm wondering if they'll use that to load the premium.0
