Well some people feel guilty when they buy something for themselves as they believe they should be punishing themselves for their "misdemeanours"...

I hope there is no one on here who thinks that.

So is it beginning to bore you? Or to depress you?

mmm, it's not like depression - I'm up, out and about - but just wishing my money was my own really but it would be if I hadn't (and let dodgy ex) spent it years ago.

Well that's part of the problem, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's part of human nature to stop driving yourself so hard when the end is in sight - that's why most mountaineers are killed coming down from the top, rather than climbing up.

I've sold all the "good" stuff on ebay and putting tat on for 99p of which ebay and paypal take a huge whack just seems a bit of a waste of time. DS's dad has just told me he's upping my money though (he's not the useless one), I've a loan finishing in feb and another thing finishing in feb which should bring a bit more in too.

And don't forget you can talk to people about it, rather than beating yourself up about it.

aww thanks :A , I don't like moaning on about it though as I think that keeps me feeling bad about it. and yes, I do feel guilty as I feel I should take the pain as I already had the pleasure!

Bob, just spent some money - guess what??? yep, clothes for DS! :o the child does nothing but eat and grow! was at the next clearance shop though so probably less than I'd pay on ebay when you add in the postage.

Soon it'll be your own - but it will take time to get out of the "guilt" mindset.

Sit down and work it out. I think someone did, and you had to sell at a minimum price in order to break even. Less than that and you made a loss. Alas, I can't remember the price, but £1.99 rings a bell.

You should stop thinking like that. It's about a destination to debt-freeness - not about a flagellation. :kisses3:

Thanks Z, the big problem with ebay was that lots of stuff wasn't even selling at 99p so I've decided to only put worthwhile stuff on from now on and just get rid of the rest to the charity shop. it's great though as I feel the place is really clearing at long last!
Got a couple of pieces of news this weekend that shocked me and made me realise that no matter how perfect other folks life seems from the outside that might not be the reality indoors so now feeling really grateful for what I have got.

That's part of what keeps me getting too morose as well. No matter what I've got, other people do have it worse.

And having a good old whinge about it, is the other part of keeping me cheerful... ;)

They sent me a bill pointing out that I hadn't paid enough and said they would sort it out but no...
Just lucky I use so much petrol really Beanie! But I think in my last statement a fair proportion came through the "buy this and get an extra 100 points" method.
