my place is all nice and tidy now, or at least tidy enough that I wouldn't be embarassed and humiliated if surprise visitors turn up! DS is at his dad's this weekend so his room will be lovely till tomorrow night at least...

Looked at all the pretty clothes in town but didn't buy any, got a few ideas for xmas pressies though.

money, money, money... seems to be a bit of an obsession with it at work at the moment despite the fact we aren't really in the thick of it - obviously if there are public sector cuts we'll be affected and don't remember the last time I got a pay rise. Boss was bending my ear about his finances (hitting retirement still with mortgage and debts) and I felt a wee bit of relief as that would be me if I hadn't found this place. Tried to help a bit but the idea of spending less than he earns didn't appeal... Also workmate was a bit shocked and confused that I spend less than £100 on food! There's only two of us so I'm now starting to wonder what the norm actually is but was too embarrassed to admit how much less I spend (about £30 per week tops). It's good to be able to come here and feel "normal" so thanks to everyone!

Who wants to be normal Skinty...........we are special:j :D

I spend for 4 of us and the cat about £50 a week on food and that includes all the packed lunch stuff too.

One woman I work with says her shopping bill is at least £125 a week and there are only 3 of them and the little one is only 7years old:eek:
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

That's the thing Louise - I manage to sneak wee pressies in too or odd bits of clothing etc for DS but they would just think I was tight if I told them so felt it best to keep quiet. my boss was shocked and confused when I told him some people pay their mortgage off early...
Spent on lunch today because I overslept but will be able to claim it back as I was out and about - yippee!
