Well I managed to get DS2 those trainers he needed £12 which I didnt think was too bad as he is now in a size 7 at aged 13:eek: he actually let me go and just choose some as he had friends coming round.

Apart from that I dont really know where the day has gone:confused: I did iron for 2 hours this morning but havent done much else.

Actually size 7 isn't too bad - a couple of DS's pals (age 9) are size 6 already! I'm stunned he let you choose for him though, was there a list of guidelines issued?:D

sometimes you just need a rest...;)

another embarassing admission... my cutlery drawer has been falling apart for years (since I moved in actually) and it's had various temporary repairs then I realised today it's exactly the same size as another drawer I never use so I swapped them over and life is so much less annoying.:o Dunno why it never occurred to me before...

also DS had peanut butter for the first time this evening and nicked my rice cake and peanut butter. this eating when he's hungry does sort of bite you in the bum on the hungry days - there's no stopping him tonight.

Because the obvious takes a while to sink in. For me, the great revelation today was in cleaning my cooker. I have an electric one (rented house) which I hate. With a gas one, I can just take all the burners and everything and drop them in the sink - can't with electric. Just had the idea of putting my pan lids over the "burners" so that they catch all the splatter. Then they can be just dropped in the washing up...

Simple, but 18 months worth of thought went into it...

Start teaching him to cook when he's hungry. And teach him to make 5 portions and freeze two. Then it's one for you and two for him... ;)

I've started already, and explaining the washing machine - male friend aged about 39 who left home at 17 wasn't aware the powder drawer came out the washing machine and had been trying to clean it whilst in situ. So obvious but not to a man who can take a motorbike to bits and rebuild it....:rotfl:
