Make sure your external hard drive is unplugged after you've copied all across, before you start itunes.
Otherwise it'll find both copies...0 -
You need to tell iTunes where they are on the PC. The listing twice can be down to it importing them then converting them to MP4 from MP3 which mine did. Stupid software keeps both versions in the library. It drove me mad until I sorted it.0

How do I resolve that then?
I havent plugged my harddrive back in since I copied them to my computer...:wall:Crazy Nutters Club Member 003 :wall:0 -
delete half of them from the library0

Did you copy from your portable hard drive onto the pc hard drive and then add the tracks to the itunes library?
if you did it this way then you'd end up with two copies ( assuming you have "copy music to itunes folder when adding to library" ticked in preferences )
That's what the software is supposed to do when the option is ticked. It COPIES the tracks, it doesn't MOVE the originals.
Try "show duplicates" in the view menu or just delete the ones you copied across initially.0
