Hi I need some foam to upholster my trusty office chair and eventually my dining room chairs can anyone point me in the direction of a decent priced supplier?

Thanks in advance

I have looked at both Foam for Home and Safe Foam for a big project I've got on the go - I haven't made the purchase yet, so I can't offer an opinion on either.

However, for smaller projects, like yours sound, I would head for an independent fabric shop who usually sell seat sized bits of foam in varying thicknesses and firmnesses for just a few quid. It's the sort of thing you also might find someone doing on a good market.

Hi thanks for the reply. Priced up a bit of foam just for the seat pad from the first company you suggested and it came in at £25 for a 50 x 50 x 8 which is the kind of price I wanted to pay for the whole chair including new outer fabric - preferably leather or black pvc. Am I being unrealistic??

Here is a pic of the chair I want to do which should, in theory be quite simple.

    Help and advice please;)

No, I don't think you're being unrealistic. You just need to be looking more for the smaller cheaper fabric shops. There's this kind of thing available on Ebay but of course it's even better if you can find somewhere that does it locally, so you save on the postage.

Whereabouts are you, I know some places in London you'd get the foam at this kind of price.

Although, if I were you, I'd reupholster the seat and back and leave the arms as they are - I'd bet they'd be a tricky job to make them look good!
