I need idea's for a gift for my mum please

I was going to make her a gardening hamper for her birthday this weekend but she has just slipped a disc so it will be pointless giving her that now as her doc said it is so bad she may even have to have an op on it. She has tons of beauty products so a pamer hamper is no good, She doesn't enjoy reading and brothers are getting her music and a dvd. What can i get?

How about some talking book CDs? I hurt my back at the start of the year and couldn't comfortably hold a book to read (sounds mad, but tis true) so being able to just listen would have been bliss.

Other things I would have liked would have been one of those wheat bags that you heat up in the microwave and soothe aches, a cosy fleecey blanket (even though I have loads, I love them) and some scented candles.

Hope that is of some help and that your Mum feels better soon. I empathise- it is miserable.

I'd go fpr things that will be of use to your mum with her horrible back as GISI suggested along with some nice chocs! Audio books can be quite expensive but loads of people sell them second hand on eBay. I've bought my mum some before.

Could do a food pamper hamper?

    What about a magazine subscription?

Definitely hot water bottle or wheatbag - I went to the physio today for my back and was told to use a hot water bottle to help my back so that's a great idea!
How about vouchers for helping her clean, cook etc as I doubt she'll find that very easy in the very near future and a helping hand might be very welcome :)

How about a DVD on Garden Makeover's or the like! as your Mum likes gardening. Plus some garden mags. Get some nice hand cream and new slippers or those squidgy socks. (someone would have to put them on though), and a heat pad for her back plus some choccies of course.
    Hope she gets better soon!

    Hope she recovers soon.
