No electricity bills for 1 year
Hi, my husband and i moved into a shared ownership property last january/february. I contacted British Gas to set up our gas and electricity supplies with them (we were told by the housing association that they were already supplying the property). I have copies of emails and letters of correspondence between myself and british gas from july last year informing us that they would be supplying our electricity (and gas) from then on. Our gas has been supplied by british gas since around july 07 and we have been receiving regular bills from then but we have never received a bill for the electricity. The date that british gas were supposed to have been supplying our electricty from is 4/9/07.
Has anyone got any advice as to what we should do? We've been trying to get this sorted ever since but have just got no-where. We are now in the process of planning to switch our gas to EDF but i am starting to worry more about the electricity. We use a lot more electricity than gas so our electricity bill will probably be very expensive and we don't want to be landed with a huge bill that we cannot pay.

Contact the supplier straight away to ask why they have not sent you a bill or taken the payments from your bank account. If you still do not get an answer from the company, you should contact them again and tell them to treat your query as a full complaint - in writing works best.
If you still cannot get a bill, you can ask energywatch to help."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
