Members being deleted???

Ok. It took me ages to find a name on here and, afer looking at your members list, there are loads of folk who's made one post then nothing more for 2 years plus???? can you not run a "delete members" after, say, a year of non posting? that way it would free up some space and leave some decent names to choose from?

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com

I suspect the space saved is going to be very minimal, and they would need to keep the 'index' of postings. Remove the names and the index could start to fall to bits!

If you looked for a thread and in the middle there's a user who has been deleted, the part of the database that looks up postings etc, would not find the user and crash.

Then there's the active users that leave, you might want to cross reference older posts of their's, and if the names been deleted, bang goes that index.

So it'll cause more problems than it cures - and as there is no problem, then why cause hassle for yourself?

Disk costs are a peanuts on the grand scale of things! Ones hour of postings probably takes more disk space than the user names take up!
