OR Interview

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all well! I now have my OR interview booked for the 12th August 10am, what I wanted to know was what do I do with my direct debits and payments that should come out on the 28th? as the OR wont have notified anybody by then will they? my wages are being tranferred to my parents account for this month while I wait for my Co-Op account to be set up, so there will be no funds going into my old account for these debts, should I call the people and advise them I am BR?

Thanks

You dont pay them your Bankruptcy starts from when you saw the judge, if you pay any creditors your OR will not be happy.

Any DD for things that are not included in your BC need to be addressed, maybe ring them up and ask for a payment book to pay them over the counter at a bank for a month or two until you get your other account sorted ect.

You should be able to get the sort code and account number from Co-op if you have applied in the last few days. Then pay money into that account and call the companies and get them to take from the new account.

As for the other firms i would call them as a few tried to charge me for cancelling and not paying DD.

Thanks shadowdragon, so do I cancel these DD and ring and tell them that I am BR as if it comes out of my old account by DD can I then get charged from the bank from having no money in the account?

Have you applied for a co-op account yet?. If so as soon as you get it register on line. You can then make payments direct or ring up the DD and get them transferred asap.D

oooo hmmm, If the DDs are for Creditors you included in your BC, cancel the DDs so you dont incur any post BC debts from the bank (which will probably be frozen when they find out your BC).

Up to you if you inform your creditors your BC some people have done so to stop them ringing every two minutes, personally I have not bothered and left it to the OR to do.

Hi Guys this is for my debts that are included in BR I have sorted all the others that come out already, but am a bit confused as whether or not to just cancel the BR debts so they do not come out as DD, or do I just leave this for the OR to sort? as it is quite a while before my telephone interview??

Well I personally would Cancel the DDs so you dont end up with post BR debts from bank charges, the bank account will be frozen at some point. Although its unusal for people who are declaring BC to to paying Creditors right upto there Court Date.

You wont get in trouble for cancelling them, and its better to be safe than sorry and getting a bill for bank charges.
