Dishwasher running cold

Have a Bosch dishwasher that I bought from a friend a couple of years back, has been working fine but have noticed it was not cleaning very well, seems to be unable to heat the water, usually opening the door after the cycle, releases scalding hot steam but, everything now is cold. Local electrical shop charges £40 + VAT for call out, plus parts & labour, new Bosch can be had for just over £250.

Appreciate it could be any number of reasons why it's not working as expected but, anyone out there who has experience with dishwashers, could maybe put my mind at rest that it might not cost the earth to repair it?

Edit; have taken out all the filters and cleaned, following some advice on a Bosch site, can see that the 'impeller' is not spinning as freely as maybe it should! any ideas out there if this should be quite easy/inexpensive to fix, rather than buy a new one for a possible problem that can be fixed for a relatively small amount????
