Avoiding extra charges on TheTrainline.com

Last night I was booking some train tickets and found that Thetrainline.com now charge 50p to collect tickets from the station and £1 to have them posted to you. They also charge £1 for using a debit card and £2 for using a credit card when there is no other option to pay.
I went to the First Great Western website and booked exactly the same tickets without incurring either charge thus saving myself £2 on a £27 ticket.
