CAB is fine its face to face support too, if for any reason she does not feel comfortable with what they say or confident in them there are still other options of support.
The sooner she gets some help the sooner she can get on with her life. I am assuming she is pretty young here and its not right to look over you back for years when you have your whole future ahead of you.0 -
rayday2,
Yeah, she is only 27. She has made a lot of silly mistakes, financially and sometimes otherwise in her life and she just wants a fresh start.
I'm 10 years older than her and feel incredibly sorry for her.
I hope she is responsive when I show her this thread (wish me luck)!!!0 -
Well I find it really sad that she felt there were no options open to her other than changing her name.
Its only a mistake if you let it happen again, and full credit to her for wanting to face this. It will be easier in the long run, the only reason people are saying to get advice first is so that she is not so scared when shes does get in contact she will have all the knowledge there and confidence in her rights.0 -
OK.
Thanks to all who posted on this subject.
I feel I have sufficient ammo to approach her about it tonight.
I hope she responds in a positive way.
Once again, thanks to you all!!:T0 -
As others have said then she's not going to go to prison for what you have listed

She does need to deal with it though or she'll be worrying about it for a long time to come. CCCS are great for advice too, and CAB are obviously a great bunch
Ideally as already said we need a break down of income , debts and outgoings to give you an accurate answer regarding what her best plan of action is. Bankrupcy is not something she should try to enter lightly, and it's not guaranteed that her application will be accepted either!
The best thing is to list everything and let's see where we're at
