    Extremely unlucky then.

Plenty of ways of doing things - leave at steps of a/c. Notify the ground crew. Even check with the gate despatchers that its on board. That's what I would do.

    £50 is very steep.

Honestly, Flybe ceased to be a budget airline a couple of years ago. Certainly since they took over BA's Eurohub at Birmingham. Their prices are totally stupid, all the time.

Look at their flights to Frankfurt - Lufthansa are cheaper!

I have no idea how they hope to compete against the likes of Ryanair.

I remember flying to Salzburg with them and the plane had propellors. I was deaf when I exited the plane.

Honestly, I think Flybe are a joke. Anyone else think they are under the umbrella "budget airline"? Not any more...

she should have got a letter from the hospital when she got the machine which explains to air line carriers that it is essential medical equipment and has to be used as carry on luggauge.

if she didnt then she need to get it now to stop any hassle in future.

she should write to the air line company in question giving details of the attitude of the staff and requesting a refund of the sum that was charged.
  • If the machine is that important to her, shouldn't she be making sure that is included in her one and only piece of hand luggage? Why would you need two bags?

On a recent flight from Luton, there were very very clear signs on the way into security, stating that only 1 piece of handbaggage is allowed. Surely if the machine is that important, then it would be a priority over any other handluggage?!

You obviously don't understand Flybe's business model; which, as they've just increased their profits - unlike Ryanair/Easyjet etc, seems to be pretty successful.

They are a budget airline where they need to be, cheap flights to Spain etc. However they also operate a network of routes (taken on from BA) which are based on non-budget travellers.

For a start Frankfurt is not a budget destination ! Flybe actually fly to Franfkurt, unlike Ryanair who claim to fly there but actually fly to a God-forsaken place called Hahn some 80 miles from Frankfurt !

They have the youngest fleet of aircraft of anyone.

Who wants to compete with Ryanair ? - the only way to do that is to use the same misleading fare/cost structure that Ryanair do - No "fuel surcharges" - they just charge for everything else, this was the lot that were charging extra for a wheelchair.

If you are going to slag someone off - get your facts right !
