dell c600 running xp probs

Hi I bought my g/f a dell c600 with xp insatalled, but sometimes it seems to lag , I know it isnt designed to run xp but it is like something is slowing it , are there any settings or tweaks I can premanently do to help it run smoother , it has its max ram so thats all done , its fine most of the time but sometimes likes to go a little slow , I suspect msn messenger dosent help , cheers for any help

How about unistall programs you dont use or a fresh install of xp

hi , i am going to do a fresh install and the system is petty clear of unused progs etc but i wondered if there were any windows [EMAIL="!!!!"]!!!![/EMAIL] running that wasnt needed
