Duvet and Pillow warehouse

Whilst this site is very competitievly priced their aftercare is seriously lacking - please be aware if you buy from this site that if there is any problems then be prepared to be seriously put out.
I bought 3 duvets from them and after 5 days they arrived, 2 had a slight smell, but the third most expensive one smelt very strongly of petrol ( or a solvent) I have had a free throw from La redoute in the past that had exactly the same smell and even after half a dozen washes the smell did not come out. So I knew I would not be able to air this smell out.
The same day I asked for a return collection and organised it for 3 working days later. It was an all day call and the customer services lady said that the courier had a habit of not turning up for collections - which rang alarm bells.
3 O'clock came and went so I rang the courier who said they had no request for a collection. After ringing Duvet and Pillow warehouse they said oh dear no request was put through. I made arrangements to be available the next day (today) and was told we will ring you first thing to confirm they are coming. Well no phone call, so again I rang the courier - no collection request. Grrr - this is getting silly.

I used DPW to buy a Duvet as Christmas present last year. The first one sent was apparently 'lost' by the courier, so they sent another one (this was just a week before Christmas). They said if both get delivered, please send one back. Well, both turned up, and I haven't sent one back, but they havent been in contact asking for it back yet."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

They are useless - beware! Mind you their duvets are superb - and I have had 3 goose down plus pillows, all lovely. I had a dreadful job getting the first one - waited weeks for it, in the end they gave me a discount on 2 others but only after they had said they couldn't be bothered, when I insisted they send them and miracle of miracles they arrived! However I sent in an order for my mother in March and the courier left it by the communal dustbins. Only by luck did she get it! Then I made the mistake of sending another order. They confirmed the order by e-mail but nothing arrived and when I phoned they said they could find no trace of it despite having acknowledged it! E-mails are never replied to. I spoke to a lady who asked me to forward the e mails I had received but when I rang again they denied all knowledge of the person I had spoken to and said I couldn't have spoken to her as she wasn't in that day! I eventually got my order but my sheets had a really horrible chemical-like smell and I sent them back for a refund together with the pillows which I didn't like. The (feather and down) duvet for only £26 was lovely however and a real bargain. Whether I get a refund ever is a different matter! After that I don't think I will ever order from them again as I have been very disappointed and would not recommend them.0

So you decided to keep something that you have not paid for?
Isn't that theft?
IMO you should call them and give them the option to collect the items, otherwise you will consider them a gift and keep them.0
