Just a suggestion.

There must be a way to ban I.P's on this board! I spent ages tonight following a spammer around, the same one I might add. Think so far they have 3 usernames, by banning the IP that would stop most of them joining again.

I no you have more problems with servers that use ghosting IP's, but surely it would stop the bulk of them?

The trouble is, nealallen, that the vast majority of IPs are dynamic, so you could ban a spammer only until they log out of the net then log back in and have a different IP.

Also, I think that dynamic IPs aren't just discarded when used once, but are re-assigned to other computers logging in, so that someone else wouldn't be able to access a site that has banned the IP they currently have - ok this is a very rare occurrence indeed as the IPs are assigned randomly, as I understand it, and there are millions upon millions out there.
