Gap Year funding/bursaries, any1 had/know any good/guarenteed funders?

I have looked all on the internet, looking through several years and copies of the Directory of Grant Making trusts and still, am finding it difficult to find people who would fund me. I am sending out letters tomorrow, so I am looking for as many addresses and potential funders as possible!

Has anyone been on a gap year and received funding or know any one who would fund me? Thanks

(I am taking a gap year to China for 5 months to teach English to students By the way!)

there aren't many options to get funded, at least with a lot of money. often the best/most reliable way to do it is to get a job for half the time and pay for it that way. most gap year trips working with charites expect students to pay for themselves anyway, so i wouldn't rely on getting 'funding' for your trip. sorry!
