Setting Up S/O Paying into Halifax Reg Saver

I cannot give you proof but I am 99.9% certain it is on or after: that's why it is advisable to set the date no later than 24th of the month because of the events you refer to.
It is always later, if not the b*gg**s would make a habit of paying things early, especially when they could charge for unauthorised overdrawn accounts.

Is this possible or would the SO always be on or AFTER the 1st?
It will be on or after the 1st. Even when all SO's are being sent by Faster Payments .... they will not transmit over a weekend / Bank holiday and the previous statement will hold. It's just that, on most dates, your SO will both issue and arrive on the 1st.Calchas wrote:set the date no later than 24th
..... but you need to go earlier in December if your Bank isn't sending all SOs by FP by then - otherwise you miss the 28th deadline. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
If would be a tad annoying to miss out on the 7% / 10% / 12% rate (delete as applicable) if your February payment arrived in March. Why the 28th deadline when there are 31 days in December?
Equally, if you lost days due to 25th and 26th December being bank holidays and it took until 2nd January for your December payment to arrive, you'd be a little irritated.0 -
We know all about February !!!!!!!
Read the whole thread before you come barging in with your opinions!

• Your standing order payment must reach
your account by the 28th of each month.
We recommend that standing orders from
non-Halifax accounts be arranged for no
later than the 23rd of each month in order
to reach the Halifax Regular Saver account
by the 28th.0 -

And there's me thinking I answered the question by explaining how the February situation is repeated in December with public holidays.
Should I respond with namecalling insults?0 -
sloughflint answered the question: you didn't opinions4u.
If my post was a tad agressive it is because I considered your post to be a tad superior or pompous, especially since you didn't answer the specific question.
Name calling? I owe you one. Go ahead...As nasty as you want...I can take it:D
I know, I know, you wouldn't resort to such stoneage ways. You are above all that!
One day I might be too :j
In the meantime opinions4u  have a beer.0 -
Whoa, steady there. Thank you to Calchas and Mikeyorks for your replies to my original query.
My SO goes out on the 1st of the month so the 24th 'disagreement' isn't applicable in this instance. I already knew about the 28th of each month deadline for the Halifax 10% R/Saver but would have pointed it out again for anyone new reading this thread if Sloughflint hadn't beaten me to it.
Thanks for the advice, just sorry it caused any fuss!0
