EoN Direct Debit Billing Question

Hi all,
I have been paying Eon £40.00 for Gas and Electric, this amount was set by Eon!

Now I have been billed £149.00 for a payment.

When I go to alter the Direct Debit, they want £179.00 per month

Now the Question is

Do I pay the bill at £149 and keep the Direct Debit at £40?

Or pay the bill of £149 and then set the Direct Debit to £179 which would mean a bill this month of almost £330

Any one help me with their on line system???

Their online review system for changing direct debits is rubbish. If you want to alter your monthly payments send them an email to tell them how much you want to pay as you've clearly been underpaying up to now. I always review my payments to be a bit in credit during the summer months and a bit in debt during the winter months so come May or so it works out at a zero balance.

Whether you pay a lump sum to clear it off now or spread the payments is up to you.

Pleasure, the staff on the end of an email will always do what you need them to direct debit-wise (within reason, they won't let you pay £1 a month if your usage is say £50 for example!) but they're a lot better than the automated rubbish that comes off their website.
