NEW Travel Money maximiser - can you spare two mins?

Hi folks,
We've been working on a facelift for this currency-boosting tool, to hopefully make it easier-to-use, as well as prettier
If anyone has five minutes to spare, it would be great if you could have a click around on it, and feed back to us. We are mainly looking for any glitches you find, so we can fix them before it goes live to everyone!
A couple of things to note firstly:
1) This isn't totally finished yet - there are still a couple of bits of text to be slotted in, more warnings about the best plastic beating foreign cash, and a couple of extra graphics to make finding the tipbox easier.
2) We'll be adding in a batch of new providers too, which will be in there by the time it goes live.
OK - here's the link:

Thanks for your help

The only thing I could say is a 'glitch' is that when I ask for a negative amount of currency or a negative number of pounds to convert, I get no ouput returned at all. I'd expect a message telling me I couldn't enter a negative number for either.
I've noticed that if you try to type letters in one of the fields, when the page reloads its value is reset to 0.00. Perhaps do the same for negative numbers as well?
Also, when I choose a country like "Italy (Euros)" or "Netherlands (Euros)", the right label changes to "Amount of (Euros)", instead of "Amount of Euros". I don't know if Euros is the correct plural either, and I think it shuld be "number of" rather than "Amount of", but those two points aren't all that important.
I couldn't come up with anything else. It seems to work very well. :money:"Peter Pan is 2. Shirley Bassey is 3. Dr Ian Paisley is 4. King Lear is 5. Why?"
"...also known as taking in the Spanish Cub Scout leader. (Cryptic) (5)"
Thanks to MSE, I've seen Citizen Kane, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Serenity for FREE!

Given it a good clicking. Liking the fresh layout & the bit about best rates with a debit card. No glitches found; just one minor point on the right hand box, final paragraph title:
Plural: A few local bureaux may give even better rates.
Nice job - I hereby grant you one cup of tea and a chocolate digestive

Lost my first reply - will rush this as need to get to sleep so pse excuse spelling/grammar etc
.
"Sort these results": - change "All Providers" to "Collection"
Would be good if results could be ordered by clicking on the column headings simliar to comparison sites. (I was looking for 500 euros & an "n/a" slightly messed up the results, still the right order though). Also, perhaps a different colour for the column being used for the sort?
"Total Amount Delivered" needs a note refering to the final column for delivery costs to be added on - currently misleading with "total amount delivered".
Overall a great service that I'll be using - if I can get a holiday organised!0 -
Has the Euro exchange rate really gone down that low? Wow. I haven't been keeping up. I'm more concerned this year about how many beer-fest pints I get to my money!
Tool was working fine for me. I shall resist any other jokes, having been directed here from Martin's post in the Arms!
The pedant in me says that there are at least two "bureau" in the text that ought to be plural "bureaux".:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Everything worked for me but I don't understand this wording in the 'Cheap Travel Alert' box......
There was two lines of text above which is this block of text
And two lines of text below which is this block of text
And I'd also agree, the word 'bureau' beside the flip-flops picture should have an 'x' on the end.
**** aah - I'm thinking it's probably a note from techies to themselves!!!****0 -
no problems.
pleased to see Turkish lira, often missed in such lists, however, I have been travelling to Turkey for last 4 years and always get better rates there. Would it be a good idea to advise people that taking pounds to some countries and changing locally can be better?stay lucky!

Seems to work fine. I have a few comments and ideas for future development, based on frequently asked questions in the forum:
- Make it clearer that the Post Office rate is for online orders only (e.g. call it "Post Office Online" rather than just "Post Office"). The PO has put a lot of effort into advertising its "no commission" service, and many people expect to be able to turn up at a PO branch and get a good exchange rate.
- List the current mid-market exchange rate at the top, and for each provider indicate how much spread they are applying over the mid-market rate.
- Include buy-back rates
- Allow the user to choose which debit card they have so they can compare the cost of withdrawing the money abroad - taking into account daily withdrawal limits etc.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
I feel its important to state that Travelex will match *most* of the major providers, including TEG and CCE. Their standard rate isnt as good, but people might need to pickup at the airport, rather than travel into London or wait for delivery, and using the pricematch (quote the URL), you get best rate and convenient pickup.illegitimi non carborundum0
