Butlins Blueskies RCI points

We were at Butlins at the weekend and viewed their Blueskies apartments. We liked the idea, and signed up - we have 14 days to cancel if we decide not to go ahead. I had been looking on here and someone mentioned ebay to sell points. So I had a look at the prices on there.
If we decide to continue with RCI, is there any benefit to buying through Butlins? 74,100 points will cost us £8,299.20 - with the maintenance fee currently £386.07 per year, and will be ours for 30 years. On ebay, we could buy 74,500 points for £1,895, with maintenance fees currently £434, and you keep the points forever. That's a lot of difference.
Is RCI as easy and good as they said it is? As long as you exchange your points well in advance, you can usually get the holiday you want. I can't remember how much they said it cost to exchange points, I think it was around £69 or £79 per transaction. Is that just with Butlins, or with other RCI companies?
Hubby really wants to go ahead with this, and I like the idea in principle, but I would appreciate any advice or comments (good or bad) that anyone could give me.
