Ebuyer? Good grief!!

I was mad keen to get hold of an acoustic guitar on sale at Ebuyer for my daughter this Christmas. In fact, I was so keen that I put up with the site throwing me off every time I tried to checkout and perservered for about 2 weeks before placing my order.
Order went through, and was paid for. I got my email confirmation. Hoorah thinks I. NO such luck! 5 mins later I get another email which simply had CANCELLED stuck across the order.
So I struggled on to the site and finally got into my account from where I could track my order. No further info available - just Cancelled!
Then I phoned customer service. Kept on hold for 9mins.- got fed up. Emailed them to ask why the order had been cancelled. And my mind was finally blown when I got a reply (after 4 days) to say the order had been cancelled because the FRAUD risk was too high! But, if I fax them a copy of a utility bill AND a copy of my credit card !!!***** I could then try ordering again.
Now you may wonder about the size of my purchase which was such a fraud risk - perhaps it was for a £1000 or two? NO, it was for £17.00!!!
Needless to say I have bought many items before and since from a wide variety of sites and never had any such trouble before. I was, and still am, gobsmacked!!!
