West Country Cottage 9th August - HELP!!

Please help, does anyone know where I can find some inexpensive accomodation in Cornwall or Devon for 8th/9th August for 1 week. Two adults and one child. Accomodation can be basic but my budget is £300. Last year we stayed in Cornwall in August for £240 for the week so it is possible. I have tried all the main websites.
I am only trying to help

Does it have to be a cottage?
We stayed in a Eurotent (pre-erected tent with 3 bedrooms and living area) near Perranporth last week. It was on an independent site called Perran Springs and the accomodation and shower block were fine.
We wouldn't stay at the actual site again though as certain things that had been advertised were unavailable, this may have been due to it being off peak, but the shop was never open and the so called "games meadow" was an overgrown bog! It was fine for a base though
We loved Cornwall though and are going to go back next year, just discovered that Haven's Perran Sands also has the Eurotents and they are £350 for the week in peak summer hols. I think that is a bargain as you are getting your entertainment passes included. We paid £290 for the independent site and that was before the kids broke up from school and there was NO entertainment at all!
Edit: Just been on haven and those tents are actually £529 for the date you want, sorry, but if you wait til the week before you want to go, they go as low as £2500
