Hi, hope somebody can help me with this; my Brother is going Bankrupt and has asked me to get him some forms from the Court, he is unable to get them himself due to ill-health. The problem is I don't know what forms to ask for [think they are numbered forms
]
Don't want to go to Court and ask for the wrong forms.

Hiya, I rang my local court, explained I wished to go Bankrupt and they sent me the relevant forms and leaflets.
They were really helpful and explained the process of when and how to book the date to do the deed.
You can also fill them out on-line - https://www.insolvencydirect.gov.uk/isolv/
Hope this helps!0 -
If you want to register to fill them in online then you do that here: as diablo suggested
https://www.insolvencydirect.gov.uk/isolv/
If you want to download them to fill in by hand then you need these two plus the notes:
Debtors Bankruptcy Petition:
http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/pdfs/forms/form6-27.pdf or http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/pdfs/forms/form6-27.doc
Statement of Affairs (Debtor's Petition):
http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/pdfs/forms/6-28.pdf or http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/pdfs/forms/6-28.doc
Statement of Affairs (Debtors Petition) (Guidance Notes):

If you prefer to fill them in by hand you can also download and print them off from the web site www.insolvency.gov.uk. You need
STATEMENT OF AFFAIRS(DEBTOR'S PETITION) form 6.28
Check how many copies your local court requires as some ask for 1 some ask for 3.
Any other questions ask away.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Thanks for your help guys, I appreciate this
@dalip ..when you state could be 3 copies; does that mean 3 of the same form, form 6.28 ?
Yeah, I know .. I'm thick lol.0 -
Yep - 3 copies of the entire form. Pages and pages! I would strongly recommend filling them in online. They are a nightmare and the online ones are a little easier to understand and get through. You do not have to do them all at the same time - you can save and come back as often as necessary. The big advantage is that you need to confirm each section is complete so you cant miss anything!
I understand that your brother is unwell, but he will have to go to court on the actual day for BR and he could be there for some time. Ring the court anyway and ask about their procedure for BR. Some courts operate a turn up system whilst others have appointments only, so check which is relevant for your local county court.0 -

What did i do wrong phil:o ????????

Yes 3 copies of 6.28. They let you keep one(after they have stamped/signed it)they send one to the OR and the court keeps one for their records. If you in receipts of certain benefits there is another form you need in order to be exempt form certain courts fees(£150 i think)but i am not sure what that one is.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Also, check to see if your brother has taken advice on this.... if not, get him call one of the numbers in either dalip's or philnicanamy's signatures. It's always best to get advice off one of the charities first. Plus they can help with any questions he may have when filling out the forms.0
