Help with toilet overflow

My OH is away and I`ve got a problem with overflows.
I am trying to deal with the easiest 1st.

This is dripping .I have tried tightening the white screw (arrowed) but it is not solving anything .It stops if I hold the arm up.I have checked the ball and that is fine.:confused:

For the first one, I think you may have to replace that little section(float valve?). The washer/seal has probably gone and I'm not sure you can get a replacement.

Not too sure on the second toilet. If its snapped, you're probably looking at a replacement there too. A better picture might help.

I'm not a toilet expert, so other solutions may be possible.

You will need a new washer and possably a new valve seating. Turn the water off, and undo the large nut clockwise.
A thankyou is payment enough .

You will need to fit a new valve. It is not easy to bend the brass arms anymore, due to the cheap quality of the brass.
Bending the arms will not stop the valve from leaking/overflowing only delay it.

    Most nuts undo anti clockwise.
