Hi one of the downlights in my bathroom has come unstuck from the ceiling panelling and is hanging down. Can anyone advise if there is a special kind of adhesive that i should use to stick it back up again?
huge thanks,
Jill

Our ones are clipped in place, are you sure yours are glued?0

hi,
yeah they seem to have clips but also have a sort of puffy looking white stuff holding them in place too. Or not as the case would be. Looks sort of like there was maybe a blob of silicone or something that was put on opposite sides. I didnt know if i should glue it back or if the bulb goes will i need to unclip it to change that?
Sorry I am such a typical girly girl!!! Lights were in from when i moved in a few years back so really not sure0 -
You should be able to change the bulb without unclipping.
Maybe the hole was cut too large at installation so the clips do not hold properly. It should only be just big enough for the fitting to pass through. The fact it has fallen down suggests the hole is too big. Are the other fittings quite secure?
I really do not know what to suggest, will ask OH once he has finished watching his TV programme!0 -
i've had a better look, the panelling is a good few inches lower than the original ceiling and the holes do seem a bit big. one of the other lights looks like its starting to drop too.
thanks again for your help!0 -
Is the panelling quite thin?0

just use gripfill you may need a prop to hold light in place until glue goes off0
