Scary, scary situation.

My bully, Rolo, just got a hold of an apple. She was choking on it. We rushed her to the vets, and they got rid of it, but are keeping her in for observation.
I went to pieces! I virtually hurled her at them and said 'choking, apple'
I feel exhausted now. When we left, she was still gagging a little, but was better in herself, wagging her tail and the like.
I'm normally so calm in a crisis, but by GOD did that scare me!

Oh gosh, how awful. It must have been extremely frightening for you both. I like to think of myself as calm and collected and I probably would have reacted in the same way as you!!!

I wish Rolo a full and speedy recovery and I bet you can't wait til she's home so she can get lots of cuddles

She LOL.

I've only just stopped shaking! It's funny - I have four kids, and have had numerous emergencies with them (most recent my lad having his ears pinned back, got sent home and woke up the next morning with blood flowing down his neck) Did I panic then? Nah, calm and collected, took him back to the ward (had a wibble moment when he had gone back down to theatre, but well out of his way mind)
Her little eyes were bulging and bloodshot. She even messed herself. Thank God the vet was only around the corner, eh?

Im the same when it comes to my dogs, I fall to pieces. I think its because they cant talk to you and tell you whats happening to them.

Poor little pooch - glad she's OK ( and you!)
Bet you any money though that she learns nowt from it, and carries on getting her teeth into anything she can. Typical bully.
( I saw one on one of those vet programs once that had swallowed an arrow from a kids bow and arrow set. It went down in one piece and the xray showed it practically the whole length of the body.)
