    Are you able to remove the drive and add it as a slave into another computer, because to fix this you simply need to run chkdsk/r and you won't lose the information on the drive.

    If you can't, can you borrow a Windows CD from some one to do the same?

    If you can borrow a Windows XP cd off someone, its possible to reinstall windows without deleting everything. This should at least allow you to get into windows and backup any important files. I'd still format once you've got everything you need, as a windows reinstall can be messy.
